Félicette Grenache Rouge

The vineyards are planted on both the plains and foothills in the south of France, between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea. The area benefits from two distinctive climates that allow the production of a diverse array of styles: the Mediterranean climate for ripe and juicy wines and the Atlantic climate around Carcassonne, where the poor chalky clay soils and cooling Northerly winds allow for more structured and mineral wines.

A period of cold maceration prior to fermentation encourages the development of lovely vibrant fruit aromas. Different temperatures are used on different batches to increase the blending components and a small amount of Malbec is also blended in to add weight and lovely spice.
